LOITERING ENCOURAGED is a group exhibit with our blog as the concept. Hold on, it's not what you think.
Last summer we realized we had so many creatives around us that were working their ass off to make their art. We know how hard it is to follow your passion and we admired how hard they worked for it. We featured them on this blog in order to share their beautiful art with you, we wanted more and more people to see it. We've had so much fun working with these creatives and learning about their passion that we wanted a way to thank them for giving us the time and opportunity to feature them on this site.
This exhibit is for those creative individuals who pour their heart and soul into their art. This exhibit is to celebrate them and all their beautiful work IRL.
Now you're probably wondering about the name we chose.
LOI·TER /ˈLOIDƏR/ VERB
1. STAND OR WAIT AROUND IDLY OR WITHOUT APPARENT PURPOSE
We are both guilty of loitering in public spaces. Whether we're at the top level of parking lots or the magazine section in Barnes and Nobel, some of our best ideas, photos and conversations have happened while loitering. I think this means we're loitering but with a purpose. It's something we don't do intentionally, at least not always, but somehow always manage to gain something positive out of it for our work. We figured there are other creatives that do the same, they loiter for the sake of their art. So, we want you to loiter in this gallery, look at the art, walk around, make some friends, look at your phone, look at the art again, send an email, talk to the girl at the door and then walk around some more. Stay for as long as you want.
