"Mothers. Daughters. Husbands. Brothers. Sisters. Those are the people that make up this group exhibit. This tradition started off as a bunch of friends getting together in one friend's house and sharing their artwork together in a 'pretend' exhibit just for fun.
We all love art in our own way. We all express the poetry in our minds differently. But this winter, the Stay Gallery has been so generous to open up and share their walls to allow us to exhibit together as one. Some of us are professionals, some amateurs, and some simply do art as a hobby. For some of us, an event like this may never happen again. Or it may just be the beginning of a career. Whatever the case after this event, we are so thankful to the Stay Gallery for making it happen.
Our levels of skill vary. Our areas of strength differ greatly. In order to allow each of us to do what we do best without constriction, we agreed to unite our artwork simply in color. The color blue. Some of us have used blue as symbolism in our art piece. Some have used it to convey a feeling, or set a mood. Some of us just simply like blue.
Look closely into our work, and you'll find a little bit of us in it. Look closely at us, and you'll understand our work even better. Can you distinguish the work of a perfectionist? How about a nostalgic? Or someone broken? Or perhaps all those things in one? We dare you to find out.”
