David Layton

David Layton is a painter from the San Francisco Bay Area. His paintings revolve around the technological, the present, and the personal. Though the subject matter is often commonplace: roller coasters, cars, arcades, etc., he focuses on the qualities that are overlooked. The works achieve their dynamic compositions through the use of cropping, and the paintings' saturated colors and skewed angles invite the eye to dart about. Ultimately, these components combine, emphasizing how quickly instances of the present pass.
